"I'm actually doing a show. from my shed. on the internet...."

Welcome to our shed!  We are so excited to finally have a place to store garden supplies- and isn't it adorable? It's shaped just like a small outhouse, with a tin roof and a crescent moon cut into the door. I got this kit online about a month ago for such a tiny price. Now, this shed isn't really sturdy or very big, or even weatherproof(how am I going to do that?)- but it was very inexpensive and also too cute to pass up.
The large and heavy box arrived via UPS a few weeks ago and we let it lay in the yard, sunning itself, taking in the rain, waiting to be opened and put together. I haven't been feeling tip top, so things have moving slowly here at the Coop- and this was one more slow thing!

Then, this week, our friend Dallas came to our rescue- he came over in the late afternoon and had the shed put together in a half hour- this piece goes here, this screw goes there- and before I knew it, TA-DA- Cape Coop's first shed was assembled and standing in the rear of the side yard, ready to be weatherized and filled with, well, whatever we acquire for the yard from now on!
The little shed, open to the possibilities!

  2. AWWWW! She even has a little lockin'-peg on the outside, just like all her ancestors!

What a wonderful addition to your back yard, and it's just a perfect size---you can easily put hanging hooks or a little shelf on the walls, and a TIN ROOF!!

I think I'd put it near enough my bedroom window to hear the rain making music on it on a Fall evening.

I'm just SO PLEASED for you, and would love to have one of those myself. (Except with the ongoing clutter spread from here-to-Goshen out on our OWN lawn, from the never-ending garage cleanout, the neighbors WOULD arrive with pitchforks and torches).

Love you new addition!! what's her name?

  3. I'm still waiting for Kiddle to name it, then I'll make a sign to hang over the door. I'm sitting here in my room with shingles, staph AND the flu, so I'm not up to checking out the little shed just yet. I think that the neighbors across from us ARE thrilled, this means we can get our own lawnmower soon- they've been mowing our lawn since before we lived here!
The neighbors in back of us and to our North, maybe not so thrilled- they've been using our yard as a dump and we're usurping their dumping grounds, little by little. Can you see the chunks of wood behind the shed and the pile of branches and cement beside it? Yup, the neighbors' dump.

  4. PS: I couldn't resist quoting Vince Clarke in the title of this post!

  5. I think that you should put up a sign that says "Port a potty" for rent & make sure that it faces those pesty neighbors!!

Welcome to suburbia. I think that this is called "fence wars". Thankfully I have wonderful people living all around me...
